Biography
Beth Humphrey's father cried for joy when she said she wanted to go to art
school; her mother was equally supportive. She travelled across the U.S.
(Minnesota, Oregon) enjoying the sights of The Corn Palace, The North Dakota
Badlands and The Devils Tower before returning to N.Y. with degrees in printmaking
and surface design.
Beth is co-director of Saugerties
Art Lab, a program that provides low cost art programs for kids. She
and Art Lab are currently collaborating with the Boys and Girls Club of
Saugerties, N.Y. to produce a mural with kids. She is also working on a
line of scrapbooking products for Paperhouse Productions in Woodstock, N.Y.
Inspired by Lynda Barry, Sweet Honey in the Rock, her father, Annette Messager,
Pierre Bonnard and Ira Glass, to name a few, Beth is making art, living
life, and raising two daughters with her husband, Guy Reed (poet, essayist),
in upstate New York.
