Statement
With my paintings I try to create a work that
has a sense of mystery. I want the work to make people
think about the strangeness of life and its brevity. In
this sense both the process and the painting are a meditation
on life.
Biography
Henry Sides works from his studio in San Francisco's Hunters
Point Shipyard. Holding a Ph.D in Philosophy from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he has been
a painter for 35 years. He was appointed to Artists Advisory
Council to ARTSPAN in 1998. Henry's work has been exhibited
in galleries throughout the U.S. and his paintings can
be seen in many private collections in the U.S., Canada,
Europe, and Australia. |
