Editor's Note: Normally, I would edit the list of accomplishments
of an artist to give an overall idea of what they have done, but Claudio Parentela
has been so overwhelmingly active in so many underground scenes that I decided
to list just about all of the accomplishments that he listed ... because I am
in awe of his stamina and his work.
Claudio Parentela is an Illustrator, mail artist, and cartoonist who is very active
in the international underground scene. He collaborates with countless zines,
magazines and publishers in Italy and around the world. His work has been published
in Stripburger, Lavirint, Sunburn, The Cherotic Revolutionary, Chance, Lucid Moon,
Malefact, Sick Puppy, Pitchfork, Edgar, Cabezabajo, Que Suerte, Kastello, Mani

In 1999 he was a guest at the Break 21 Festival in Ljubljana (Slovenja). Parentela
has exhibited work at the association Microcosmo (Torino); Girasole (Villa Basilica-Italy);
Tabula Rasa (Barcellona-Espain); Galerie Slaphanger (Amsterdam), and in will exhibit
in the near future at Gallery Soqquadro (Rome) and "La Cueva" (Milan).

and punk genres.
• He has illustrated stories and poems of Vittorio Baccelli, Lisa Massei,
Alberto Rizzi, Cristiano Quadalti, Shannon Colebank, Gavin Burrows, Gary Sneyd,
Robert Smith, Michael Kriesel, Mark Sonnenfeld.
• He participates in mail art projects/shows.
