About the Artist My work is about pattern, repetition and transition. I chose the computer disk because of its symbolic representation of our culture's obsession with the newest, its mass-consumption, and its haste to throw objects away. The lifespan of computer technology is fascinating to me because of its short route from invention to redundancy. A lifespan of a few years. My most recent body of work deals with transitioning objects within a transitioning environment. I began using the computer because it enhances my ability to experiment rapidly, quickly make prototypes, and for its usefulness in creating random effects. |
